Delicious. We ordered braised pork rice, beef noodle & pork dumpling, all very good. Price is slightly higher but ok since it is in tourism area. The staff is kind n friendly too

If shabby chic ever needed a visual dictionary entry, it would surely resemble Osmanthus Alley. The exterior spills over with greenery, while the interior brims with eccentric trinkets and furniture that looks as if an enthusiastic amateur cobbled it together from abandoned crates. The result? Rustic charm, unforced and abundant at every turn. Craving something soupy and soothing, I zeroed in on the oyster mee suah. The namesake osmanthus jelly and an icy peach gum tong sui also beckoned - it was, after all, a sweltering day. Ordering required a little Mandarin - the shy young lad who served me was polite but sparing with words - and soon enough, the dishes began to arrive. The mee suah was everything I hoped for: steaming hot, hearty, and generously packed with root vegetables, black fungus, tofu, and oysters so plump they bordered on decadent. The noodles slid down silky-smooth, while the soup struck that delicate balance of light yet starch-rich comfort. Only a splash of black vinegar was missing to push it into perfection. The jelly was a nostalgic delight - firm yet tender, gently sweet, perfumed with osmanthus, and studded with drifting goji berries. The tong sui, meanwhile, came brimming with herbal treasures, cooling and restorative in equal measure. I didn’t manage to sample the rest of the menu, but if these plates were any indication, the kitchen is one of quiet but formidable talent. I’ll be back - without hesitation.

Nice retro decorated small restaurant serving some good variety of Taiwanese street food. The beef noodle is really delicious and its broth is nice.

Walk pass this shop many time and missed it. Finally tried today. Shop layout felt like those 80s taiwanese layout. Very relax environment. Staffs were very friendly and patience in attending to me too. Order following: 1. Osmanthus jelly. Its light yet refreshing. Texture is similar to those in taiwan just that taiwan felt more like you are eating kway kinda texture. 2. Order soda sunset. Its a passionfruit with soda. One drink and it packed a punch esp in this hot day. 3. Braised pork rice. Many ingredients inside. I specially request to remove the egg as i don't wanna feel too full. Other than that there are taiwanese sussages, braised tau kwa, braised pork, preserved vege. Rice is normal rice no doubt. But the braised gravy pour over the rice instantly make it into a interesting combo. The gravy is rich yet not too salty nor sweet. Just nice. Preserved vege is just nice not those chemical smell. It still maintain its crunchy texture. 4. Lion head. The texture is soft. Just use a chopstick apply a bit of pressure and it break apart. The lion head i can actually taste the ginger taste in it. Therefore making it more tasty the more u dig into it. For me i really don't get sick of eating this dish alone. Only issue i have are the naba cabbage thats abit hard to bite off. The sauce is rich yet not overbearing to the point that it snatch the taste of cabbage sweetness and lion head savory taste. Will strongly recommed this resturant if you are sick of usual penang foods. Its a great alternative.

Nice Taiwanese cuisine. Desperately to look for some Chinese dishes. Fried cabbages just has the right crispy and tasty, fried chicken wings, 獅子球 extremely delicious. Too yummy and hungry totally gotten to take any pictures of the food. Highly recommend

For some reason, a strong feeling that the brunch at Pulau Tikus is much better in the aspect of food quality, service and the environment. This place seems a bit run down and if I would return, probably I would revisit the brunch at Pulau Tikus.

The beef noodles are really delicious! The broth is flavorful, and the beef is tender. The shop is small, but the décor is stylish and the environment is cozy. After eating, you can even take a walk to Hin Bus.

Been frequenting this cosy family-run restaurant for years. Consistently good food. They downsized at one point, happy they brought back their wider menu again! Favourites are the rice wine chicken 甜酒鸡, all the noodle options, hakka abacus beads, sichuan chicken 口水鸡.
